It’s not uncommon for those in the creative sectors of our communities to have strong connections across and between those who are active professionally or as avocations. In south-central Pennsylvania, one of those connective arms is the Cultural Alliance of York County. Its Director of Communications, Rita Whitney, lets us take a peek into her own artistic background in this Creator Five.

Jim Mackey uses many avenues to share his creativity, including poetry and oil painting. But perhaps the artist is best known regionally for his fascinating chainsaw wood carvings (some referred to as “totems”) and found art assemblages.

For painter and multimedia artist Ivy Rodgers, time is the frame of reference for her 2023 show, re(new). Each work was created in the six months immediately before the exhibit.
